A mother’s centre ties in with the tradition of the extended family, and is the modern expression of this way of life. The Open Meeting is - just like a living room - the heart of the house that is open to allcomers. It was decided to have the part “Mother” in the name in order to emphasize the feminine and motherly competences of our members. Our visitors enjoy a feeling of security and friendship, they have room for development, contact, practical everyday help and inspiration for personal growth. The opportunity to share experiences and learn from one another is an important pillar of the mother’s centres. Each house is unique as each serves a varied range of users, and each has an equally varied set of volunteers and services.
